Abstract

Fractures of the distal humerus are the most common fractures of the elbow region in children. The percentage changes between 60 and 86.4 in different series. In the elbow region there is always risk of neurovascular injuries, Volkmann's ischemic myositis and alterations in carrying angle whatever the treatment is. This study compares the results of closed reduction and percutaneous pinning, open reduction and percutaneous pinning and closed reduction and splingting in supracondylar humerus fractures. It is concluded that closed reduction and percutaneous pinning is the best method of treatment unless there in any contraindication because it is not only economical but also has the best functional results.
