Arthroscopic Evaluation and Treatment for Medial Synovial Plica

Abstract

Arthroscopic diagnosis and treatment results in 112 cases with medial synovial plica syndrome were evaluated. All of the patients had previous conservative treatment but did not benefit from this treatment.In these patients with isolated plica pathology, plica resection was done with a 96.8% success rate. If another intraarticular pathoiogy was associated, the success rate decreased to 13.8%. The worst results were obtained in patients with degenerative arthritis of the knee.
