Abstract

Reports of stress fractures have increased because of an increase in individual participation in activities which tend to produce this type of fractures. The most common location of stress fractures is the tibia and the first symptom is tibial pain. Nineteen year-old man who had daily forcing running activity, admitted to our clinical department with right calf medial pain. After the evaluation with physical examination, x-ray and scintigraphy, tibial lesions defined as a stress fracture. After the 6 weeks rest and analgesicantienflamatuar treatment, activity as tolerated was prescribed. In the 10th follow-up months, his pain was being completely relieved but x-ray findings were still remaining. So, we accepted the patient as recovered.
