Abstract

Computed tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging are the most advanced modalities for imaging of anomalies of the musculoskeletal system. Magnetic Resonance Imaging has excellent soft tissue resolution, thus enables the differentiation of fat, muscle, tendon, cartilage, menisci, ligaments and paraarticular soft tissues from one another. In this review, Magnetic Resonance Imaging of knee pathologies are presented. Its advantages and disadvantages are discussed, comparing it with other imaging modalities and artroscopy.
